The Mastery School provides many opportunities for our scholars to explore their heritage, interests, and expand their horizons. We also provide many opportunities for families to join us in celebrations throughout the year to engage with their scholars’ school experience.
student enrichment Activities & events
Each year students have several opportunities to explore our world outside of the school by taking field trips often at low to no cost for their families. Our students have seen many theater performances, attended museums, zoos, colleges, apple orchards, and more.
After School Athletics
After School Athletics is an after school sports program led by our Physical Education Teacher Mr. Aaron Hjermstad. The program is held from October through February. Scholars participate in the "sport of the week," receive a snack break, and compete in a prize contest related to the sport of the week. In addition to weekly activities, students also attend field trips to a Timberwolves game and swimming at the BC Community Center.
Track and Field Day
Each year scholars participate in a Track and Field Day in the spring. Students in grades K-2 participate in events here at our school, while scholars in grades 3-6 travel to our sister school to compete in events with students from Harvest Preparatory School and The Best Academy.
I Love to Read Month
February is national I Love to Read month. At The Mastery School we celebrate reading throughout the year, with an added emphasis in the month of February with a Scholastic Book Fair, Drop Everything and Read Day, and other reading celebrations.
Each year volunteers spend time in every classroom teaching the scholars about financial literacy through age-appropriate games and activities. To learn more about Junior Achievement you can visit their website here and find links to their educational programs
