Smart is not what you are. Smart is what you become with hard work.
— Harvest Network of Schools

To instruct, empower, enable, and guide students on the path through college and career success in dual single-gender programs.

For every child to be college and career ready.

The Mastery School, serving grades K-5, was established in 2012 through a unique collaboration with Minneapolis Public Schools. The then district superintendent wanted to learn from and replicate the Harvest strategies that were producing such outstanding results for scholars, especially Black boys.

This collaboration of a district school and charter school was so unique it drew the attention of CNN news anchor Soledad O’Brien and was featured in 2013 in an episode of Black in America.

In the fall of 2016, The Mastery School moved to a new campus with a new authorizer, Pillsbury United Communities. We are excited to expand the reach and impact of the Harvest Network of Schools throughout north Minneapolis.
